Check back Friday afternoon for all the news, but for now:
- North Shore 104.9 providing the music!
- Hiller’s Silver Studio
- Kittredge Candles (really! We had the date wrong last week)
- Wakefield July 4th Parade Committee is back again!
- Henna Tatoo Artist
AND, it is Kousa Day at our market this Saturday June 25!
What is kousa? You will have to stop by the Market Kitchen Tent
right next to the Market Manager Tent to find out.
Market Manager Wendy Dennis will be cooking up an easy, tasty recipe or two using this vegetable. Bite-size raw slices will be on hand for kids to try, as well. AND, any young artist who draws a picture of this veggie and brings it to the Market Manager Tent will be entered into a Free Drawing for $10 in Market Bucks!
Paper and crayons will be at the Kid’s Activity Tent.
And, before we go on, don’t forget:
Volunteers ALWAYS welcome and needed!
You can sign up here for spots and tasks throughout the entire season.
We are in pretty good shape this week, but a few more hands on deck
is always a good thing.
Potential volunteers are always welcome to “shadow” a volunteer doing a task you are interested in learning how to do before you sign up for a market day volunteer spot.
IT AIN’T PRETTY, YET… Set up and breakdown will be much easier from now on because we have a storage unit at Hall Park! Not more lifting heavy tents and more into the minivan!!!
And, no fear; the unit will be beautifully painted next week by Wakefield High art students under the direction of Art teacher Joy Schilling. Thank you to Steve Maio, Town Administrator, Rick Stinson, DPW Director, and the Board of Selectmen for your support!
As always, along with accepting credit and debit cards, we also proudly welcome SNAP/EBT transactions in exchange for “Market Bucks.” Our market continues to match SNAP/EBT purchases up to $10 per visit so all of our neighbors can afford to eat healthy local foods. Just stop by the Market Manager Tent to get your Market Bucks.
The Wakefield Farmers Market runs RAIN OR SHINE (except in dangerous weather, e.g. lightening or hurricane conditions). The market opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 1:00 p.m. every Saturday starting June 18 through October 15, 2016.
See you at the Market!Wendy Dennis
