The Wakefield Farmers Market returns on Saturdays, June 19-October 30 from 9am to 1pm. The market will be full of freshly picked fruits, veggies, locally raised meats, out of this world fish, dairy, and specialty foods you won’t find on any supermarket shelf. Live music is back, along with local artisans, henna, kid activities and more. We will continue to add more events throughout the season. In keeping with social distancing rules, our vendors will be at least 6ft apart, we ask that all our patrons follow CDC guidelines and please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated.
Opening day is packed full of the best farmers and small batch producers.
Kayla Russell will be here with her creative Henna designs. What a fun way to kick off summer! As always, have hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, and jump ropes on hand for kids of all ages, and the Kid’s Activity tent will be set up and stocked with plenty of paper, crayons, as well.
Our nonprofit guest, The Wakefield Human Rights Commission, will be here celebrating Juneteenth and Pride month, plus sharing information about their organization. Stop by their tent and say hello!
Now, here’s what you’ve been waiting for – the official list of week’s vendors! Produce: Brox Farm is our newest farmer, stop by their tent and check out their offerings. Farmer Dave, Fay Mountain Farm and Kelly’s Farm will have plenty of in-season produce of all kinds. There will be luscious strawberries available, as well as greens, herbs, and potted plants. Microgreens & mushrooms are back with Neighbor’s Acre Farm, I have missed them so Pasture-raised Meats, Poultry, and Eggs: Lilac Hedge Farm will have all you need for locally raised meats, poultry, and eggs. Check out with local honey, and yummy jerky type products. Seafood: Roberto’s Seafood will have plenty of fresh seafood on hand. You can even pre-order and have it ready for you at the market. Cheese: West River Creamery. Along with the VERY best cheese, Jane will also have her delightful pickled produce and mustards.
Specialty Foods: Coutt’s Specialty Foods with preserves, Deano's Pasta delicious fresh pasta (cash only vendor), Fork on a Road with meal kits & spices, and Habibi Gourmet Food (Mediterranean fare), the very best authentic Egyptian and Lebanese food. Stop by our newest vendor tents, Craic Sauce and Drew’s Stews and see what they are cooking up to spice up your summer menus. Add some sweet caramel to your summer with Wakefield’s own Secret Stash Sweets.
Baked Goods: Drive-by Pies with their amazing pies, both sweet and savory, Goodies Homemade (the BEST Cookies). The Bread Shop and Roasted Granola, both return and we welcome our newest bread shop, Purple Carrot Bread Co.
Beverages: Aaronap Cellars (wine) are showcasing the best in Northeast wine making. Tower Beverages will have their craft soda (the best ginger ale). Pour Man’s Coffee is here, too, with the BEST ice coffee and other beverages, plus treats to enjoy at the market. They also sell Fair Trade coffee beans from Dean’s Beans to take home. We welcome the new owners of Creations Coffee in Wakefield, each week bringing us coffees and teas from around the world.
Pet Treats: Emmett’s Edibles, with healthy treats for your canine and feline friends.
Artisans: Jennifer’s Soap, Mariela’s Mexico bags in back, along with Sarah’s Originals (aprons, placemats, and more), and Ugly Soap Company. Also, On the 5 Studio with unique, beach inspired gifts and your favorite charcuterie boards are here with the work from Sasquatch Woodworks.
