Outdoor Holiday Market December 12

We’re back! The Wakefield Farmers Market celebrates the Holidays this Saturday, December 12.  The weather looks like it won’t get rainy until nightfall and it will be a mild day for Saturday. Wear your masks and some layers and join us at Hall Park from 11:00 am -2:00 pm.  Come stock up on your favorites and grab a few holiday gifts from our artisans vendors while you’re here!

We’ve got lots of our vendors joining us for this special market, including:    

Farmer Dave’s – Farmer Dave’s will have all of your fall favorites – winter squash, potatoes, carrots, greens, apples and more. Our own raw honey, pickles, hot sauce and jam all made with our own produce as well as scratch made baked goods.Pre –orders are available on all items and are suggested on baked goods and pies.Visit our website for preorder information.  Orders must be in by Dec. 10. 

Lilac Hedge Farm – pasture raised meats to stock your freezer and free range eggs.

Neighbor’s Acre Farm – custom mixes can be placed at https://local line.ca/neighbors-acre.  It will be too cold to cut to order, so if you want your choice of greens, pre-order is the way to go!

Roberto’s Seafood – The best seafood around is here.  Call or email ahead to guarantee what you’d like.

Coutt’s Specialty Foods – Mother’s preserves, jams and jelly will have LOTS of yummy treats: 

GLUTEN FREE CHRISTMAS COOKIES – certified gluten free. Plus, hand decorated Christmas Stockings, Snowflake, Trees, Gingerbread Men, etc.Beautifully done. And. of course, CHRISTMAS GIFT BOXES –  $20, Something for family members, postal worker, to have “just in case”.   You PICK OUR OWN flavors for someone in mind. Deano’s Pasta – fourth generation pasta makers from Somerville, MA.  Pre-order for credit card orders and to ensure you get what you want before they sell out.  Deano’s is a cash only vendor at the market.

Drive-by Pies –  will have lots of the best pies around!

Fork on a Road – Visit your favorite farmers for the fresh produce listed on the recipe package, follow the recipe, and you have a delicious meal, side dish or appetizer. Plus – An Indian Feast. – 3 Meal Kits, a feast for 4-6 with Banarasi Channa Masala, Harvest Hyderabadi Biryani and Saffron Kheer with Rose and Cardamom

Grateful Tastes – artisanal spreads for more than just bread.  got the return of our Cranberry-Honey Preserves crafted with the season’s first early black cranberries with our raw local honey.

They’ll also have TONS of pure maple syrup with us, including half gallon and gallon sizes. And to boot, fresh spun raw honey, as always only in sustainable USA made Mason jars.

The Roasted Granola –  Each batch of our granola is made by hand and checked for quality. It is not too sweet, contains healthy nuts and seeds, has a touch of quinoa and is made with Greek olive oil. This week Pumpkin Spice Granola is back in 15oz and 12oz bags! Plus, Belgian Chocolate Granola Bark is back in stock for the cooler weather.

Mariela’s Mexico – Mariela’s bags are handmade, very lightweight, durable,  recycle plastic as well as waterproof. The perfect bag for your everyday use for work, super market, going out for lunch , dinner, traveling or going to the beach. 10% of the day’s proceeds will go to the purchase of Dunkin gift cards to be donated to the Haley House (haleyhouse.org) in the South End which helps people in need. 

Sasquatch Woodworks returns this week – and they have built up a great stock of new wine caddies, serving boards, cutting trays and bowls. Stop by to check out their newest pieces grab a gift for  the holidays or to get a present for that Zoom wedding you need to virtually attend! 

Trow’s Treasures is back with her incredible medicinal salves, herbal pillows, catnip toys and more.

Ugly Baby Soap – will have Lip Balm in new Bigger & Better packaging as well as some new holiday fragrances.

The Vintage Vault & Company will be here with their hand poured soy wax candles in vintage and town themed containers.

COVID-19 Procedures: 

Per the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and our Board of Health, to keep our customers, vendors and volunteers safe we have a few new rules we ask everyone to follow:

  • Mask or face covering MUST be worn at all times within the market.
  • Enter at the back of the parking lot near the boat launch (ENTRANCE sign posted)
  • Wait until a volunteer admits you, Do not jump the ropes, we have a maximum number allowed
  • Follow signage (foot traffic is one way)
  • If possible, send one person to limit crowds
  • Social Distance at all times – 6ft all around
  • Purses and reusable bags CAN NOT be placed on any surfaces
  • You may touch only what you purchase, ask a vendor for assistance
  • Exit is near the Entrance (sanitizing stations available)
  • Keep it moving to allow for the next group pickup. 

Payment Methods

  • Pre-pay when pre-ordering if possible, SNAP customers follow the vendors instructions and pay at market
  • Unfortunately, we will not be offering the Market Bucks Program this season due to COVID-19.  
  • Everyone deserves high quality healthy food! We accept SNAP/EBT, Pandemic EBT, visit our market tent for SNAP Bucks
  • WIC and Senior Coupons can only be used for produce and some select items from Farmer Dave.

We need your help!!!  There are plenty of volunteer opportunities at our market. Go to wakefieldfarmersmarket.org, Click Volunteer tab at top, “Choose a spot on Sign Up.com”. We have many short shifts available.
