Just Wanted to Give Folks a Head’s Up!
On The Edge Knife Sharpening will be with us this week! Patti, the woman behind the company, specializes in hand sharpening kitchen knives (serrated and straight edge, as well as Japanese knives), as well as scissors, including dog grooming shears, utility scissors , garden tools, hunting knives, other pet grooming tools – sheep shears and other edges. Tools used include a whet stone, ceramics and different types of polishing stones.
And, did you know this? Special arrangements can be made to sharpen onsite for small “groups” of people at your home. For contact information and more, visit the
On The Edge Knife Sharpening website.
Don’t Forget to Vote! Help our market be in the top in Massachusetts. Right now we are #1 in MA!
Simply go to: lovemyfarmersmarket.org once a week and “pledge” how much you plan to spend at your favorite farmers market. You can pledge once a week up until midnight September 13. Let’s go for it!
Note: Some typos on the American Farmland Trust page indicated, incorrectly, that once a day voting was allowed. Once a WEEK is the limit per email address!
As always, Yarrow or one of his colleagues will be with us, twisting balloons in to magical creatures, and hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, and jump ropes will be out for the playing!
Hope to see you at the market July 26
Lot’s to see, buy, watch, and enjoy!
As always, check the www.wakefieldfarmersmarket.org for updates.
Our market will continue participating in the Plant A Carrot Campaign, a program designed to help farmers markets raise funds as well as raise awareness of farmers and farmers markets all across the country. “Carrots” will be available for sale ($5 each) all season at the market. To learn more and to get your very own Carrot, be sure to stop by the Market Manager tent!
The Wakefield Farmers Market runs RAIN OR SHINE (except in dangerous weather, e.g. lightening or hurricane conditions). The market opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 1:00 p.m. every Saturday starting June 21 through October 18, 2014.
