New this year! I know some folks are already making out their shopping lists, but in case you have not heard, the Melrose/Wakefield Monthly Winter Farmers Market will kick off the season with its Thanksgiving Harvest Festival on November 23 and continue on the 3rd Sunday of the month from December through April, including December 21, January 18, February 15, March 15, and April 19.
Based on the successful Thanksgiving Festival that the Melrose Farmers Market held last year, the farmers market will take place Sundays from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Hall, 590 Main Street in Melrose. Many vendors from the Melrose and Wakefield summer markets will be on hand, offering a wonderful array of local, fresh produce, sustainably raised meat and poultry, fresh fish, pasta, dips and spreads, maple syrup, honey, preserves, teas, spice blends, Fair Trade coffee, and a wide array of fresh baked goods. A selection of artisan vendors offering soaps, candles, herbal products, and more will also attending.
As always, the farmers market accepts SNAP benefits and, during this winter season, will match up to $5 per market day.
